The sisters were June, Frances, Betty and my mom Margaret Ellis. Mrs. Wanamaker managed well. Each time there was a crisis such as Frances needing new shoes there would be a family meeting at the Wanamakers. It would be decided who got the old shoes, how much they would pay and who would kick in extra to help cover the shoes.
