Funeral services for John M. Mellecker, 92, Iowa City, will be held at 10 a.m. today, Wednesday, Feb. 15, 1995 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, with burial in St. Joseph's cemetery.

Mr. Mellecker died Feb. 12 at his home, following a sudden illness.

The son of Joseph W. and Magdalene Birrer Mellecker, he was born July 22, 1902 in Hills. He married Mary T. Jenn Feb. 22, 1933 in Hills.

Mr. Mellecker was a lifelong resident of Johnson County and he fared in Union township.

He was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church.

Mr. Mellecker is survived by his wife; 2 sons, John (Mrs. Marlene) and Edward (Mrs. Barbara) both of Tipton; a daughter, Mary Ann (David) Kral, Iowa City; 2 brothers, Grants Pass, Ore.; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Celesta Shebek; 6 brothers, Francis, Urban, Cletus, Joseph, and Eymard; and a great-granddaughter, Kourtney Earnest.
