Robert Edward Donohoe, 96, of New Holland, died Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at 6:22 a.m. at Fayette County Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient two weeks. He was born August 19, 1915 at Atlanta in Pickaway County, Ohio to William and Maude Dunn Donohoe. He lived most of his life in the Atlanta and New Holland communities. Before his retirement, he was a 30-year employee of Armco in Washington C.H. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in Japan during World War II. Mr. Donohoe was preceded in death by his wife, the former Maxine Mae Murray on May 4, 1998; by four brothers, George, Francis, Thomas and Charles Donohoe and four sisters, Margaret Wallace, Ruth Schleich, Agnes Puffinbarger and Madge Donohoe. He is survived by three sons; a daughter and her husband, of Washington C.H.; four grandchildren; several great grandchildren; a sister, of East Liberty, Ohio and two sisters-in-law. A graveside service will be held Friday, December 9, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at the New Holland Cemetery with the Rev. Larry Doss officiating. Burial will be under the direction of the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in New Holland. There will be no calling hours.
