Born to E.Fern Lance Egan & Francis Patrick "Frank" Egan on 18 Jun 1925 in Brookings, SD. Baptized St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Aberdeen, SD 12 Jul 1925 by Rev. Thomas Coyne with sponsors John & Ida Culhane. Moved to Wisconsin Rapids WI when he was 4 yrs. old & then onto Eau Claire, WI. He was engaged to Mary Ann Deeren of Winona, MN 7 Jun 1947, when he was attending school at St. Mary's where he graduated in 1950. He married Mary Ann Deeren 12 Jun 1948 @ St. Paul's ProCathedral by Rev. R.E. Jennings, witnessed by brother F. Patrick Egan and Mrs. Ruby Corl Egan, sister-in-law.1951 the Vince & Mary Ann Egan family moved to St. Paul, MN; 1953 moved to Raleigh, NC; 1958 moved to Columbia, SC; 1963 moved to Sullivan's Isld., SC, moved 1966-68 Dayton, Ohio; 1968 returned to Sullivans' Isld, SC when he established his company, Carolina Retail Packaging, Inc.; late 70's they returned to Columbia & resided in Lexington until 2005 when they moved back to the City of Columbia. Vince was devoted to the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peters & a member of the Board of Directors until he retired in 2006. He was the Director of Development for the Clan MacAodhagain (Egan in Gaelic). His company, Carolina Retail Packaging expanded and he received awards for his productivity in the packaging industry. He traveled with his wife of 63 yrs to the Carribean, Europe & Ireland. 17 Jun 1998 they celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary with family, & friends.The last Clan Egan 2000 Reunion he, Mary Ann, sons Tim & Terry, daughter Molly, & grandchild Dulce went together. We attended Mass at the Church his great grandparents were married St. Mary & Finaghta, Sixmilebridge, Co.Clare, Ire. John & Mary Egan were the Egans to first immigrate to America 1851. Vince was predeased by his wife, Mary Ann Deeren Egan; brothers George, & John Egan; sisters Mary Jo& Helen Egan, & Marge Derouin. He is survived by his brothers Pat (Ann) Egan of Derby, KS & Mike Egan of Aurora, CO; Children: Mary Jo (Tom)Burbage, Columbia, SC; Kevin (Zina)Egan, Beaufort, SC; Molly (Barry)Storick, Ft. Mill, SC; Katy Egan of the home; Timothy (Barbara)Egan of Rock Hill, SC; Bridget (Roy) Thompson; Terry (Karen) Egan of Colorado Springs, CO; Dennis (Pam) Egan of Columbia, SC & Nora (Brett) Womack of Columbia, SC; 28 grand-children & 4 great-grandchildren.
