OBITUARY :
JACOB W. SHAFFER, 80, of 1388 Stanley Ave. Ext., died Thursday at his home.
He was born near Welsh Run, the son of David and Mary Weaver Shafer.
He was a member of the Brethren in Christ Church of Chambersburg. He had taught school, farmed, and worked as a painter.
He is survived by wife, Jane Byers Shafer, daughter, Mrs. Samuel Thrush of Shippensburg, Pa., son, Seth of Scotland Rd. near Chambersburg.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Sellers Funeral Home in Chambersburg. Burial will be in Air Hill Cemetery near Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 7 to 9.
