O.E. Hall has been granted a patent by the government on a cement railroad tie, which is undoubtedly a great thing and will soon replace the old wooden ties. It is made of two cement blocks three and one-half feet long with a steel bar on top, under which rests an asbestos cushion, and it is inexpensive.
(Note: I thought this was an interesting bit of this man's life.)
