Mr. Allen was born May 5, 1930 in Buncombe County to the late Hicks Allen and the late Jannie Rice Allen. He had resided in Barnardsville and later moved to Canton where he had made his home before moving to Sevierville, TN in 1999. Mr. Allen was a United States Army Veteran, having proudly served in Korea and was also honored to serve as a driver for President Dwight D. Eisenhower. Mr. Allen was a mechanic by trade and was also a farmer. He was a former employee of Farm Equipment of Asheville and in his later years was employed at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, TN. Mr. Allen was a member of Zephyr Hills Free Will Baptist Church in Asheville. Junior was a avid fisherman and he deeply loved all of his family. His precious memory shall be cherished forever by those blessed to know him.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sons, Dennis Allen and Kenneth Allen; two brothers and a sister.

Surviving are his loving and devoted wife of 58 years, Betty McFalls Allen of Sevierville TN ; his children, Daniel Allen of Nashville, TN , Carl Allen of Leicester and Dale Allen and his wife, Sherry Allen of Leicester ; 22 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; a sister, Lois Rice of Asheville and many relatives and friends.
