Virginia Eveline Williams Baugher, 89, of Elkton, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2011, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Baugher was born December 29, 1921, in the Swift Run area of Elkton, and was the daughter of the late Raymond and Ora Baugher Williams.

Mrs. Baugher was a lifetime resident of the area, and attended the one room Swift Run School. She was a member of the Beldor Mennonite Church near Elkton, and had previously been employed at Sleepwear, Bond Lumber Company in McGaheysville, and retired from Genie (Alliance) Company in Shenandoah, at the age of 71. She enjoyed her family and friends very much.

On December 6, 1941 she married James Lewis Baugher, who preceded her in death on July 15, 1993. She is survived by a son, Garland Baugher and wife, Frances, Elkton; three daughters, Diane Conley, Fay Baugher and Kay Davis and husband, Bobby all of Elkton; three sisters, Valton Roach, Fleta Taylor and Norma Jean Dearing and husband, Randy all of Elkton; sixteen grandchildren, Tim and Marty Baugher, Gail Shifflett, Tina Eppard, Crystal Lam, Wendy Baugher, C.W. Conley, Derrick Conley, Sarah Knight, Eric, Nathan and Josh Baugher, Craig Taylor, Amy Baugher, Michael and Daniel Sizemore; twenty five great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sons, James Delano and Gary Wayne Baugher; brothers, Junior and Donald Williams; and son-in-law, Wayne Conley.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm Thursday, December 8, 2011 at the Kyger Funeral Home Chapel in Elkton, with the Pastor James Akerson officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be private at the Williams Family Cemetery, in the Sandy Bottom area of Elkton.

Friends may also call or visit at the home of Virginia's children at anytime.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Beldor Mennonite Church, 3317 Beldor Road, Elkton, Virginia 22827, or a charity of the donor's choice.
