Judith Diane "Judy" Black, 68 years old of Lafayette, passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2011.

She was born on July 19, 1943 in El Paso, Texas, to Otis Leo McCollum, Sr. and Esther Wethington McCollum.

Judy worked as a nurse for 30 plus years. She had worked for the Doctor's Hospital and LSU Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana and for the Lepers Colony of Kalaupapa in Molokai, Hawaii.

Judy loved helping the homeless and volunteering at the Trinity Mission. Judy was a mom to everybody.

Judy is survived by her son, Stacy Black and his companion, Frances Martin-Hatcher of Deltona, FL; brothers, Otis McCollum, Jr. and Family of Lafayette, Terry McCollum, Sr. and Family of Crawfordsville, Phil McCollum and Family of Lafayette, and the Family of Roger McCollum.

She was preceded in death by her parents Otis and Esther McCollum, Sr.; sons, Steven Otis Black and Bert Everett Black; and a brother, Roger McCollum.

In accordance with Judy's wishes there will be no services.
