AURORA - Scott E. Chaney, 45, Aurora, passed away Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, at Provena Mercy Medical Center. He was born Dec. 13 1965, in Aurora.
Scott was employed as a truck driver for many years, most recently at Fed Ex. He enjoyed golfing, traveling and loved hiking in the Smoky Mountains, where he traveled often. Scott loved his family and enjoyed frequent visits with his cousins. He had many life-long friends and had a self deprecating sense of humor. Where ever Scott was, he was always the "life of the party." Scott will be missed by all who knew him, including his dog Baron and the friends he made at the dog park.
He is survived by his father, Bob (Lucy) Chaney of Elgin; his brother, Dan Chaney of Stillwater, Okla.; his two sisters, Susan (Mark) Siekierski of Batavia and Sandy (Jess) Davies of Hinckley; four nieces and nephews, Kyle and Madison Davies and Hope and Matthew Siekierski; and his best friends, Mark Erickson and Kim Hoffman.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Jean Chaney; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Funeral will leave The Daleiden Mortuary at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, for Holy Angels Church at noon. The Rev. John Earl will officiate. Interment will be private. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 6, at The Daleiden Mortuary, 220 N. Lake St., Aurora.
