Kenneth Gail Ashburn Jr. (1933 - 2011)
Kenneth Gail Ashburn Jr., 78, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011, at home. Service: 2 p.m. Friday at Benbrook United Methodist Church, 1122 Bryant St., Benbrook. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Laurel Land Funeral Home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations to Benbrook United Methodist Church earmarked for the new building fund would be appreciated.
Kenneth was born Nov. 5, 1933, in Garnett, Kan., to Kenneth Sr. and Rene. He was the oldest of two. He married Patricia Walker in Selma, Kan., on Dec. 26, 1954. They had three children. He served in the Air Force for four years. He was a longtime resident of Benbrook for 50 years and employed by General Dynamics as a electronics specialist for 34 years. Kenneth was a member of Benbrook United Methodist Church. He enjoyed singing in the choir, attending his grandkids' sporting events, researching the family genealogy and any football game on TV. Kenneth was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Gail Ashburn Sr.
Survivors: Kenneth will be remembered by his loving wife and their children, Paula Ashburn, Kathy Welch and Nancy Posey. He is also survived by his mother, Rene Morris; brother, Gary Ashburn; and grandchildren, Trey Welch, Briana Welch, Tyler Posey, Tanner Posey and Heather Posey.
