Missing in action on the skirmish line on August 19th, 1864 at Petersburg near Weldon Railroad. He was confined in Richmond on August 30th then sent to Salisbury, NC on October 9th, 1864. On October 30th, 1864, he was admitted to hospital, where he would die of intermittent fever on November 3rd, 1864.
