Art Malzahn, 73, attended schools in Maple, Lake, Minnesota. He worked nation-wide as a construction superintendent.

He married Velma Rieger on 28 july 1931 at Enid, OK. Following their marriage, he continued to work nation wide for 30 years as a construction superintendent for JOnes and Hettelsater Construction in Kansas City, MO.

He moved to Breckenridge in 1964 and worked for Fred Buford and Associates.

In 1971, he was employed by First National Bank and Tower as maintenance superintendent, a position he held at the time of his death.

He was a member of the Elks Lodge, the Kiwanis Lodge and the First Christian Church.

Survived by his wife; two sons - Gus of Texas Creek, CO and Jerry of Coppell; one grandson - Gus Malzahn, III of Fort Smith, AR; two granddaughters - Troy Lynn Roper of Skiatook, OK and Fran Malzahn of Coppell; one great-grandson - David Roper of Skiatook; nieces, nephews; great-nieces; great-nephews.
