Cheraw - Funeral services for Frederick Morris Laviner, 74, were conducted from Redfearn Funeral home at 11 am today with burial in Old St. Davids Cemetery.
Mr. Laviner died Thursday at a Hartsville hospital where he was taken Sunday after suffering a stroke.
He was born in Marlboro County, a son of the late John Hampton Laviner and Venetta Driffers Laviner. His wife, the former Henrietta K. Kirkley, died several years ago. For many years Mr. Laviner farmed but for several years before his retirement four years ago, he was a timber cruiser.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Ashley L. Stuckey of Sumter; one son, F.M. (Buddy) Laviner of Cheraw; four grandchildren; five sisters, and four brothers.
