RECTENWALD RITES
Services for John W. (Jack) Rectenwald will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Simpson-Chandler Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in South Charleston.
The 32-year-old resident of 7 Glenwood Avenue, died yesterday of a self-inflicted shotgun wound of the head. His body was found about 4:30 a.m. by his wife, Ruth, who was awakened by the noise of the shotgun blast.
Rectenwald was an employee of the State Department of Public Assistance and formerly was an employee of the funeral home where services will be held.
A Charleston native, he was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Rectenwald. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors in addition to his wife and parents, include a stepdaughter, Mrs. Patricia Fennell of Charleston; four sisters, Mrs. Arthur Trimble, Mrs. Stanley Wyatt, Mrs. Elizabeth Berlin and Mrs. Robert McCartney of Charleston; five brothers, Earl of Governors Island, New York, Paul Frederick of Portland, Oregon, Edward of Huntington and James R. and Alfred of Charleston.
The body is at the funeral home.
