"Rev. Nathan Grosvenor died in Chaplin Conn. Feb. 14th 1814 was buried in Pomfret. He was taken sick at his oldest daughter's Laura G Clark of a fever and died there. His wife's mother went there to help care for him and took the fever and died And his daughter Eliza died there at that time of the same fever

Transcription: "IN MEMORY OF Mr. NATHAN GROSVENOR WHO DIED FEB. 22d 1814. AGED 49. He was a preacher of the gospel two years. He was social and pleasant as a man: affectionate as a husband: faithful as a parent: exemplary as a christian evangelical and acceptable as a preacher.
