Jonas K. Hager was the son of Abram Hagar Jr. & Dolly Temple Keys.

(Note how Jonas' surname is spelled differently than his father's. Let me explain...

"Jonas' father was Abraham Hagar 1798-1834)(note spelling), mother was Dolly Temple Keyes. Abraham was a son of Abraham (Abram) Sr (1755-1847) and Abraham's second wife Thankful Newton (his first wife was Thankful's older sister Dolly who died a few years after their marriage).

The original Hager name there in New England was Hagar. Their Hagar ancestors (William Hagar and Mary Sarah Bemis) had immigrated from England, not Germany. Jonas was most likely born as Hagar, but changed the spelling for reasons unknown but common. Once they left New England, they found themselves among many German Hagers, and perhaps that was the reason."

===========================================

Jonas' first wife was Almira C. Rice
  born 1822 in Massachusetts
  died 1872 in Minnesota
Note: Sometimes I have seen her name spelled Elmira.

Jonas K (age 23) married Almira C Rice on 5-June-1842 in West Boylston, Worcester, Mass

  Jonas & Almira's children were:
  a) Irving Washington Hager
      (b 07-May-1843 in West Boylston,
      Worcester, Mass.
  b) James G Birney Hager
      (b 23-Sept-1846 in West Boylston,
      Worcester, Mass.
  c) Levitt H Hager
      (b 1849 in Mass.
  d) Cornelius D Hager
      (b 1852 in Mass.
  e) Mira Alice Hager Fountain
  f) Mina S Hager
  g) Abraham Lincoln Hager
      (b 1863 in Ill.)

(Note: I discovered Mina S Hager's memorial by accident on 29-Sept-2016. I was searching for more of the known children of Jonas to see if perhaps some of them were buried in Pecatonica, Winnebago CO, ILL where they once lived in 1860 and where his mother is buried and where his half-sister should be buried. It was then that I discovered the grave of Mina S Hager -- daughter of J. K. Hager! Sadly, she died very young...)

Jonas' second wife was Louisa C. Groff
  born 1847 in Iowa
  died 1921 in California
  married Jonas on 10/11-June-1874 in
Ramesey or Dakota County, Minnesota, USA

  Jonas & Louisa's children were:
  a) Effie Naomi Hager
  b) Myron Keyes Hager

Census data for Louisa and her children after after Jonas died. (He died in 1900):

1910 Federal Census: Tacoma, Pierce, Washington

1920 Federal Census: Piedmont, Alameda, California

Note, at this time I have not been able to find the graves of Jonas'
a) mother: Dolly Temple (Keyes) Hager
b) his first wife: Almira C (Rice) Hager
c) his children via Almira -- with the exception of Mira.

NOTE: I think I have found Jonas' mother's grave (Dolly Temple [Keyes] Hager Brown). Until I can confirm it, I will not link it up. However, I will state my
reasoning for thinking I found it. Dolly Temple Keyes married Abram Hager Jr. He died relatively young, and she remarried a Charles Brown. By Charles Brown she had one daughter, Cornelia "Nellie" V Brown. Dolly died just a few months after the 1880 census. She was last living with this daughter whom had married a Daniel A Stitsel. Here is their 1880 census:

1880 Federal Census: Pecatonica, Winnebago County, Illinois

Online sources state that Dolly died in St Paul. However, I think she died in Pecatonica and that the following is most likely her grave:

Dolly T Brown

This most likely is Dolly's son-in-law Daniel A Stitsel:
D A Stitsel

Dolly's daughter is supposedly buried there too according to her death record. However, I need to talk to the cemetery sextant about finding the grave.

Nellie V. Stetzel

NOTE: I did find two of the four first family sons (Jonas & Almira's sons) in the civil war for Illinois:
a) Irving Washington Hager -- no luck

b) James G. B. Hager: 39 Illinois Infantry Company H. Joined as a Private but left as a Musn (musician).
(Film Number M539 roll 36). This website stated that was a musician who stint in the army was finished on Mar 23, 1865. (Note they have his name as James S B Hager instead of James G B Hager.) Note, his info states: Resident: PECATONICA, WINNEBAGO CO, IL; Age: 18; Height 5'7"; Hair: Dark; Eyes: Hazel; Complexion: Fair; Status: single; Occupation: Farmer. Nativity: STERLING, MA; Joined: MAR 19, 1862; Where: Chicago, IL; Joined by: LT MARSHALL; Period: 3Yrs; Muster in: APR 18, 1862; where: CAMP BUTLER, IL; Remarks: APPOINTED MUSICIAN AUG 25, 1863 MUSTERED OUT MAR 23, 1865 TERM EXPIRED.

c) Levitt H Hager: 12 Illinois Cavalry Company CHM. Joined as a Private, and left as a Private. (Film Number M539 roll 36). This document stated Levitt was transfered from Company M to Company H.

This website stated that he deserted on 28-July-1865 in Alexandria, Louisiana -- which was after the Civil war ended

Note: Here is an L H Hager in 1870 in Hannibal, Marrion Co, Missouri married to a Phoebe:
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/M46P-HN6

Here is a female Hager born to a Levitt H Hager and Phoebe Hager on 18 Sep 1873:

Here is a Levitt & Phoebe Hager in Turner County, Dakota Territory
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/MCV4-J7C

They seemed to have gone on to have a son Wilfred A Hager. Levitt must have died sometime after 1880. Phoebe and Wilfred then moved from Minneapolis to Portland to
Los Angeles. Wilfred was married to a Leanor in 1930, but they would have been too old to have children

d) Abraham L Hager -- born 1863 so to young to fight.)

(Note: I am a descendant of that daughter Mira. Mira A. Hager went on to marry Charles Arthur Fountain. Their daughter, Nellie Annie Fountain, married Frank Hopkins Cannon. Frank Hopkins and Nellie Annie (Fountain) Cannon's oldest son was Frank Fountain Cannon. Frank Fountain married Bernice Boelter, and their oldest son was Frank Boelter Cannon who was my father.)

Soldier of Late War Dead.
