At the age of two Glenda suffered a high fever that caused irreversible brain damage. Glenda had to learn how to walk all over again and was never able to read or write but Glenda never let this get in her way. Glenda attended Enid State School in 1948 then Anadarko in Tulsa. She moved to Altus Oklahoma where she worked in the Court House as a janitor until she retired and moved to Lawton. As a young woman Glenda enjoyed traveling to Wichita to spend time with her sister, and her nieces' and nephew. She liked shopping, watching television, listening to the radio and looking at family photograph albums. She delighted in receiving mail and presents from home. Glenda attended First Baptist Church in downtown Lawton.
Glenda was predeceased by both parents, Brother in law Major Norton Jr. and Nephew in law Robert S. Hubble.
Glenda is survived by her sister Loretta June Walling Norton, nephew Terry (Dana) Norton, nieces Vickie (Jim) Norton Dressler, Sharon Norton Hubble. One great niece, five great nephews, four great- great nieces, four great-great nephews along with many friends and very special healthcare providers Annie Jones Gray, Carolyn Daniels and Gilda Chase.
Friend's family will receive visitors prior to the service from 7pm to 9pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in the Garden of Eternity following the services. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Great Plains Improvement Foundation in care of the funeral home.
