Our beloved dog, Pablo, had to be put down today. He was over 15 years old and was suffering from many ailments due to his age mostly. He was nearly blind, mostly deaf, and had severe allergies that tormented his skin for the past several years. He had arthritis and suffered from chronic ear infections. In other words, my precious Pabbie has lost all quality of life and the time finally came to let him find peace and rest. Though others may not be able to do this the way I do, it is my promise to my beloved animal friends to hold them as they take their last breath. I want my touch, scent, voice and hugs to be the last thing they know as they leave for a better place. My heart is broken, but I treasure the many years that Pablo gave me joy and company. He will be so missed by us all. Pablo was a Border Collie and had a wonderful life with us and that is what I will remember always. I love you, my baby Pablo. Rest in peace now.
Pablo is buried with his treasures on our property in Julian, California. Julian is now known throughout the nation for the fires that took so much from so many. We were spared and are so grateful. Please remember those who died in the fires that raged throughout southern California in 2003. Bless the firefighters here in California, and throughout the entire nation. They are all heroes!
