Glorine Lee Thomas, 70, of Elkton, passed away Friday, Nov. 18, 2011, with her family by her side.
Glorine was born Aug. 12, 1941, in Page County, and was a daughter of the late Floyd McKinley Turner and Evelyn Marie Dovel Turner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wiley Lee Thomas, in 1972; son, Wiley Eugene Thomas and daughter, Deborah Darlene Thomas.
Glorine was a member of the Shenandoah Baptist Church, and was a devoted mother and grandmother. She truly enjoyed her Sunday afternoon drives, and never really knew where they would lead her.
Mrs. Thomas is survived by four sons, Roy Lee Turner and wife, Darlene, Wayne Lee Thomas and wife, Marie, Jeffery Wayne Thomas and wife, Karen, and Calvin Ray Thomas; daughter, Tammy Lee Smith and husband, Russell; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two sisters, Barbara Brown and Rebecca Cubbage.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, 2011, at the Kyger Funeral Home Chapel in Elkton with Pastor Jimmy Kite officiating. Burial will follow at the Seventh-day Adventist Cemetery in Stanley, Va.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
