Olga Anderson, 78, of Prairie Farm died Oct. 14 at her home. Funeral services were Friday morning at United Lutheran Church in Prairie Farm, with the Rev. Oz Twedt officiating and interment at Vanceburg Cemetery in the Town of Sheridan.

Mrs. Anderson as born Oct. 13, 1925 to Ole and Emma (Saugstad) Flaw in the Town of Vance Creek. She grew up in the Vance Creek/Prairie Farm area and graduated from Prairie High School. On April 22, 1949 she married Richard Anderson at Prairie Farm. Mrs. Anderson worked at the Farmers Store in Prairie Farm for a time before moving to Milwaukee, where she was a nurse’s aide at Mount Sinai Hospital and later earned a degree in nursing at MATC and became a licensed practical nurse. She retired from Mount Sinai in 1984, and the couple returned to Prairie Farm, where Mrs. Anderson worked at Pioneer Nursing Home for a time.

She is survived by five sons, Roger of Prairie Farm, David of Tony, Jeff of Racine, Donald of Prentice and Jon of South Milwaukee; two daughters, Ellen Crass of Franklin and Linda Shafer of Clear Lake; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Edna Rye and Mildred Johnson, both of Prairie Farm.

Mrs. Anderson’s husband, Richard, died Jan. 21, 1994. A grandson also preceded her in death. [Thursday, October 22, 2003, Rice Lake Chronotype, Rice Lake, WI.]
