Warren H. Acker, 86, of Old Mosser Road, Breinigsville, formerly of Lewistown, passed away August 24, 2007, at the Lutheran Home at Topton. Born on December 16, 1920, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Verna Ulsh Acker and is survived by Betty Maines Acker, to whom he was married to for over 62 years. He graduated in 1939 from Lewistown High School. He was employed in the traffic department at Standard Steel from 1956 to 1988 and was previously employed by Hajoca Corporation. He was a member of First united Methodist Church, Lewistown. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and served on board Minesweeper 25 for 40 of his 44 months of service. He had a fondness of nature and was a family man. he was a sports enthusiast, especially Penn State football. His most joyous time was the time he spent with his granddaughter, Gillian.

Survivors: Wife; sons, David L. Acker and wife Alana W. Acker of Macungie; granddaughter, Gillian Annabeth Acker; several cousins.

Services: 10 a.m. Monday, Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., Lewistown, with Rev. Karen McCachren officiating.

Interment will be in Lind Memorial Methodist Cemetery, Lewistown. Friends may call for 9 a.m. until the time of services Monday in the funeral home.

Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jordan United Church of Christ, 1837 Church Rd., Allentown, PA 18104.
