CLARK'S HILL, July 18 - Special) Dayton F Kilgore, 81, member of a well-known pioneer family in this county, died at 6:45 o'clock Friday morning at the family home, three miles west of here. Mr Kilgore was born in Monroe, July 3, 1856, and married Lulu Peterson in 1896. He was a member of the Clark's Hill Christian church. Surviving are the wife, eight children: Mrs Hazel Marshall and Mrs Mabel Bentson, of Salem, Oregon; Ira W Kilgore, of St Helens, Oregon; Mrs Effie Lister and John Kilgore, of St Cloud, Florida; Mrs Harriet McLaughlin, of Huntington; Mrs Gertrude Huffer, of Frankfort, and Amley H Kilgore, of Clark's Hill, and a half-sister, Mrs William Gardner, of Monticello. Funeral services will be conducted from the home Tuesday morning at 10:30 o'clock, with burial in the Union cemetery.(Lafayette, Indiana, Journal & Courier, Monday, July 19, 1937, page 5)
