Virginia Ennis Bice, 93, of Seaford, passed away at the hermitage in Onancock, Va., on Friday, Jan. 18, 2013. She was born and raised in Kent County. She was a registered nurse and worked at the Memorial Division Hospital in Wilmington and as a private duty nurse. She married Dr. Donald Bice and resided in Seaford where they raised their two children, Virginia and Douglas. Mrs. Bice was a devoted member of St. Johns United Methodist Church in Seaford. She volunteered her time and talent to her church, Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, the Seaford Library and other organizations. She was an avid bridge player, loved spending time with her friends, going to the symphony, the DuPont Playhouse and taking bus trips. With her husband she spent happy years at The Love on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. He husband, Dr. Donald Bice passed away in 1976 and her son, Douglas Bice died suddenly in 2012 and he is sorely missed. She is survived by her daughter, Virginia; son-in-law, Richard Hartman; dear friends, Emma and Charles Rhyne; grandchildren, Dr. Hamilton Bice, Farrow Bice Oschner and her husband Jason Oschner, Elizabeth Hartman, Catherine Hartman Thompson and her husband GW Thompson and William Hartman and his wife Charisso Hartman; and great-grandchildren, Molly Hartman, Bella Oschner, Lucy Bice and Charlotte Bice. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26, at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Seaford. The family wishes to express love and appreciation to the wonderful staff at the Hermitage in Onancock for their tender care of Mrs. Bice. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Johns United Methodist Church, PO Box 299, Seaford, DE 19973. Arrangements are in the care of Cranston Funeral Home, Seaford
