REACH, William William Ardell Reach, of Stockbridge, GA, died on Tuesday, January 13, 2009, four days before his 79th birthday and five days after celebrating his 60th wedding anniversary. He was born in the central Alabama coal-mining community of Dogwood, to the late Ursery Jackson and Mattie Jane (Langston) Reach. He served in the U.S. Army as a radio operator during the Korean conflict, and had a long and successful career in the transportation and distribution industries as a driver, foreman, manager, and salesman. His employers included the Belcher Lumber Company, Merita Bakery, Bailey Supreme Coffee, General Foods, Sherwin-Williams Paint Company, and Kroger Foods. He was an avid Alabama sports fan and enjoyed camping and playing golf. He never met a stranger and was a faithful husband, loving father and loyal friend to all who knew him. He is survived by his beloved wife, Clara Jean (McCaleb) Reach, Stockbridge, GA; his children and their spouses: James Ardell and Susan Dolores (Latimer) Reach of Marietta, GA, Douglas Alan and Doris Barbara (Resmondo) Reach of Social Circle, GA, Kevin Thad and Cori Patricia (Seely) Reach of Bishop, GA; and Melissa Karen (Reach) and Scott Evans of McDonough, GA; 12 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 17th, 2009 at Salem Baptist Church, 1724 N. Decatur Rd, McDonough, GA, 30253, with the Reverends Ralph Wade and Richard C. Statham, officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens
