Mrs. Thelma W. McArthur, 95 of Smyrna, formerly of Cocoa Beach, Fla., and Dalton, passed away Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011.
A funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Carmichael Funeral Home in Smyrna.
Burial will be in Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. McArthur and her husband Harry owned and operated McArthur Concrete in Smyrna for more than 30 years. They were longtime business leaders who were very involved in their community and were highly respected by their peers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Ivan McArthur; daughter, Carole Lee Quesnel; granddaughter, Karen E. Latimer.
She is survived by her daughters, Catherine James of Jasper and Phyllis Armistead of Smyrna; grandchildren, Kelly Latimer, Tracy Taylor, Todd Taylor, Chris Armistead, Sherri Polley, Kristi Ledford, Valerie Harvey, Michael Quesnel and Sharon Quesnel; 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
Those who wish may make contributions to the Georgia Mountains Hospice, 70 Caring Way, Jasper, GA 30143.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
