Knightdale - Bennie Dixon Arnold, 87, of Knightdale, died early Sunday morning, March 24, 1996 at Rex Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Arnold was a native of Wake County, and had lived in Knightdale for 65 years. He was a retired farmer in the Knightdale Community and a member of Knightdale Baptist Church.
Funeral 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, 1996 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, with Reverend George Pullium officiating. Burial, New Knightdale Baptist Church Cemetery.
Surviving: wife for over sixty years, Mary Ellen Currin Arnold of Rose Terrace Rest Home in Wendell; daughter, Ann Morris and her husband, David Morris of Thomasville, Ga.; son-in-law, Berry Richardson and his friend, Phyllis Norman of Knightdale; grandchildren, Mike Richardson, Phillip Richardson, both of Knightdale, Dixie Murphy and Wayne Morris, both of Thomasville, Ga.; two great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brother, Oris Arnold of Raleigh; sisters, Jessie Morris, Mae Arnold, Vivian Lyon and Virginia Allen, all of Raleigh.
Mr. Arnold was preceded in death by his daughter, Doris Arnold Richardson and a sister, Pearl Arnold of Raleigh.
Family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home, Monday, March 25, 1996 from 7-8:30 p.m. and other times at the home of Berry, Mike and Phil Richardson, 1418 Smithfield Road, Knightdale, N. C.
