Nathan Scott "Downey" Downey, 25 of Elkton, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2011 at his home.

Nathan "Downey" was born August 19, 1986 in Rockingham County, and was the son of Scott and Cheryl Downey.

Nathan "Downey" graduated from Spotswood High School in 2004. He also attended and graduated from Massanutten Vocational Center, with a concentration in electrical and machinist work. He was employed as a construction worker.

Survivors include a daughter, Autumn Skye Downey; sister Adrienne Cupp; paternal grandparents, Forrest and Martha Downey and Patti and Jeff Breeden; and numerous extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, William and Nancy Schuler Curtis.

An "informal" service of remembrance will be held at 4:00 pm on Sunday, November 6, 2011 at the Kyger Funeral Home Chapel in Elkton. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and one hour following the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a Trust Fund for Nathan's daughter, Autumn. Please make checks payable to Autumn Skye Downey and mailed to David Downey, P.O. Box 2361, Harrisonburg, VA 22801.
