Charles Colonel Hines is the son of John Leonard Hines and Frances (Fannie) May Smart. His first wife was Edna Mae Childress. They were marriedOctober 14, 1914 in Milan, Sullivan County, Missouri. Charles and Edna had 4 daughters (Mildred, Gale Morine, Leila Maxine, and Neva Norrine) and a son (Charles Edward Hines). They later divorced. Charles' second wife was Bertha Jane McClure (widow of Ransom Wallerich). Bertha and Charles were married May 28, 1934 in Kahoka, Missouri. No children born in their union. His first wife, Edna, second married Fred B Oswalt, widower of Pearl May McClure. After Fred's passing she later married Charles L. Doyle.
