Lina Angel

Lina Parris Angel, 97, of Route 1, Pisgah Highway, Candler died Thursday at her residence.
A native of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late Marion and Martha Martin Parris and the wife of Willard Angel who died in 1960.
Surviving are four daughters, Wilma Hollifield and Sue DeBhuhl, both of Candler, Bertha Parham, Christine Moore of Leicester; three sons, Johnny, and Sam Angel of Leicester and Mack Angel of Alexander and step son, Homer Angel of Leicester. Step daughter Dema Griffin of Alexander, a sister, Mary Jane Haney of Alexander, two brothers, Ervin Parris of Alexander and Grady Parris of Enka, 36 grandchildren, 69 great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
Service will be at 4 p.m. Sunday in French Broad Baptist Church , Alexander of which she was the oldest member. The Revs Howars Self and Jennis Sluder and Everett Haney will officiate. Burial will be in church cemetery.
