Dixie Jernigan Knowles, 68, of Randleman, formerly of Mount Olive, died Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro. Mrs. Knowles was a native of Newton Grove and retired from Acme-McCary. Dixie and her husband John were married 51 years, and she loved her family. She also enjoyed watching NASCAR, especially Jeff Gordon, and going shopping.
She loved animals, especially her granddog, Denver.
She is survived by her husband, Johnny Knowles of the home; daughter, Pamela Pugh of New Orleans, LA; son-in-law, Jimmy Pugh of Snellville, Ga.; son, Johnny Knowles Jr. and his wife, Regina of Winston-Salem; and grandchildren, Jeremy Pugh of Snellville, Ga., Joshua Pugh of Savannah, Ga.
The family received friends Friday, May 20 from 2 to 2:45 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman. The funeral service followed at 3 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Jon Ferguson officiating.
Burial followed at Randolph Memorial Park.
