Born in Wilmington, Drew was the son of Matthew Paruszewski and his mother, Deborah (Shaw) Keese. He was a graduate of Bohemia Manor High School and worked as a pipefitter for Local 74. He loved fishing at the White Clay and Brandywine Creeks, enjoyed golf, disc golf, basketball, and playing his guitar. He was a talented creative writer, loved animals and being outdoors, was a friend to all and helped others in any way he could.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Deborah and Mark Keese of Newark; his father, Matthew Paruszewski of Baltimore, MD; his sister, Victoria "Tori" Paruszewski of Newark; his maternal grandmother, Margaret Shaw and his maternal grandfather, William Shaw, both of Wilmington, DE; and his paternal grandfather, John Paruszewski of Earleville, MD. He will be sorely missed by his many aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, April 14, between 6 and 8 pm at Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington. Funeral services and interment are private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Delaware State Parks Memorial Tree Program for the planting of trees in his honor by calling (302) 739-9220.
