Born in Albany, NY to Kathryn and William J. Lasher on October 30, 1943. Bill graduated from Paul Smith's College of Forestry then joined the Navy, earning his wings and flying for the Naval Arctic Research team. He was awarded the "Antarctic Service" Medal, twice.
Bill is survived by his wife Peggy, sons Bill and Brendan, grandson Colter, brother Chris (Teri) Lasher and other family and lifelong friends.
There will be a celebration of his life, with a time for sharing, on his birthday, Sunday, October 30th at 3 pm at Chapel By The Sea, 14730 Turnagain Bluff Way, Anchorage. Rev. Tim Davis officiating. A reception will follow. A military burial will be at Fort Richardson
