Billy Wade Maxwell, born in Sherwood, TN February 2, 1939 to the late James Clayton and Mary Florence Steel Maxwell passed away Friday, October 21, 2011 at his residence in Jasper, TN of natural causes. He was a proud United States Army veteran and avid University of Tennessee and Tennessee Titan football fan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings Dorothy Maxwell Holmes, Thomas "Bud" Maxwell, Betty Carol Maxwell, June Maxwell Haney, Jesse Lee Maxwell, and Geneva Maxwell Garner. He is survived by children Christie (Thomas) Gilbert and Mark (Lesley) Maxwell all of Murfreesboro, TN and Jennifer Boughton, of Cowan, TN and 8 grandchildren. Also, surviving are sisters Patricia (James) Roberts of Jasper, TN and Hazel (Marshall) Hawkins of Sewanee, TN and brothers Dewey (Marlene) Maxwell of Boise, ID and Burley Maxwell of McMinnville, TN and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m.CT Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Epiphany Episcopal Church and on the bridge next to the Church in Sherwood.
