Kate Robinson Best, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at her residence.
A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Lelia Harbin Robinson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred W. Best, who died in 1976; a son, Larry Best; a granddaughter, Lynn Best; and a great-grandson, Jared Hardin; two brothers, Henry and Jack Robinson; a sister, Sue Welch; and a nephew, David Robinson, whom she raised. Kate was a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church for over 60 years, former Sunday School teacher, Bible School leader, active in the Ladies WMU, and on the death call food committee. She loved to work in her garden and plant flowers. Kate was a gracious servant for the Lord.
She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Jackson and her husband, Clyde, of Canton, four grandchildren, Tim Jackson of Candler, Pam Thomason of Wilmington, Lisa Riddle and Carla Simmons both of Canton; four great-grandchildren, Kane and Wyatt Jackson, Jason Hardin and Toni Holcombe; two great-great-grandchildren; two nieces, Anne Jenkins and Barbara Henson; and one nephew, Joe Robinson.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Beaverdam Baptist Church with the Reverend Gene Worley and the Reverend T.M. Gibson officiating. Burial will follow at Beaverdam Baptist Church Cemetery. Wells funeral Home obit
