Sandra Dye Alvarez, known to her friends as Sandi, of Whitestown, IN passed away October 25, 2011. She was born August 16, 1955 in Reidsville, NC to the late Harold S. and Virginia F. (Calvin) Dye. Sandra was a graduate of Arlington High School and attended Purdue University. She was a medical transcriptionist.

Sandra married Roland Alvarez on August 8, 1995 in Colorado Springs, CO. She loved spending time with her family, especially her daughter Ashley Dye. She also enjoyed watching movies, being on her computer, and playing with her beloved dog Murphy.

Sandra was a loving and caring person who always showed concern for others. She enjoyed meeting new people, and really never met a stranger.

Sandra is survived by her husband Roland Alvarez, her daughter Ashley Dye, her sister Barbara D. Long, her brother Rickey L. Dye, nieces Sarah, Lindsey, and Kara and nephews Ben, Trevor, Nathaniel, and Forrest; great nieces Alice and Eliza, and great nephew Harold Jack.

A memorial service will be held at Flanner and Buchanan Zionsville Funeral Center, 105 W. Pine, Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 1 pm. Visitation will be from 11 am until time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Zionsville United Methodist Church, where Sandra was a member.
