William P. Adams II, 83, of Long Pond, died Friday, Oct. 21, at the home he shared with his daughter, Mary Jane. He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, June T. (Marshall) Adams, who died at home on July 14, 2008.
William was born on April 25, 1928, the son of William and Anna "Dolly" (Hudson) Adams, in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, N.Y. After graduating from Fort Hamilton High School, he served as a U.S. Marine, stationed in Hawaii during the Korean War.
He was employed as a banker for more than 30 years at the Bay Ridge Savings Bank, Brooklyn, N.Y., while residing in Staten Island, N.Y.
Upon retirement, William and June moved to the Emerald Lakes area in Long Pond. They were parishioners of Saint Mary's of the Mount Roman Catholic Church in Mount Pocono.
William was an accomplished artist and wood carver, who also enjoyed traveling, photography, auto races and nature.
William and June are survived by five children: William of Middletown, N.Y., Kevin of Easley, S.C., Mary Jane of Long Pond, Susan Peterson of Hawley, and Jill Coluccio of Leonardo, N.J. They are also survived by 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren (with a fourth one on the way).
Funeral services and a military honor guard were held at Our Lady of Angels Roman Catholic Church in Bay Ridge, N.Y. Burial was alongside his wife at Holy Cross Cemetery, Brooklyn, N.Y.
