Born May24, 1926 in Arkansas City, Arkansas Ralph was the son of Robert Edgar DeVore and Bertha Brown DeVore Burkstakller.
Ralph was a charter member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and of Council 8900 Knights of Columbus. He was retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard.
Survivors are his widow: Irma, children: Kathleen DeVore and partner Scott Hynek of Bethel, Maine, Ralph A. (Randy) DeVore, Jr. and wife Sally of North Charleston, Eugene N. DeVore and wife Kristina of Overland, MO, Mary DeVore Faulkner and husband Thomas of Kingsland, GA, Joyce Hudgins of Graham, NC, Robert W. DeVore and partner Terri Ostrom of Summerville, SC, Harry W. DeVore and wife Mary of Warham, MA, John L. DeVore and partner Nanette Brienzi of Avon, NY, and Thomas E. DeVore and partner Rachel Carver of North Charleston, SC, 23 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 6650 Dorchester Road, N. Charleston, SC 29418 Thursday, October 27, 2011 from 6 pm until 8 pm, with a Prayer Service at 7 pm. The Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mr. DeVore will be held at St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church, 6650 Dorchester Road, N. Charleston, SC 29418 Thursday, October 27, 2011 from 6 pm until 8 pm, with a Prayer Service at 7 pm. The Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mr. DeVore will be held at St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church on Friday, October 28, 2011at 10 am.
The Rite of Committal will follow in Carolina Memorial Park, with Military Honors.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made in his honor to St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church or to a charity of one's choice.
