[NOTE: He was NOT conscripted into the military.] In Apr 1863 he was at home on sick furlough due to an amputated arm. In Aug 1863 he was listed as AWOL. In Apr 1864 he was still counted as absent, although no longer AWOL, due to being wounded and on furlough. He was listed on the 'Roll of Honor'.
