Obituary in unknown paper. Artie Virginia Head died Wednesday, March 5, 2000, in an area health care facility. She was 88. She was a native of Evensville, Tenn, and spent most of her life in the Chattanooga area. She was an active member of Hickory Valley Church of God of Prophecy and retired from Memorial Hospital as housekeeping supervisor with over 20 years of service. Following retirement, she was active with the Memorial Hospital Auxillary. Mrs. Head was preceded in death by her son, Bobby Lee Head. Survivors include her brother Virgil C. Hale, Chattanooga; three half-brothers, Burk E. Hale Jr. Ringgold, Ga, James W. Hale, Chickamauga, Ga., and Samuel Nelson Hale, Boaz, Ala.; three grand-children; and four great-grandchildren. The funeral will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with the Rev. Duke Stone officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday one hour before the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hickory Valley Church of God of Prophecy, 2201 Hickory Valley Rd, Chattanooga, Tenn, 37421.
