Alvin W. McDonald, age 51, a resident of Athens, passed away at a local hospital early Thursday morning, October 20, 2011.
Mr. McDonald attended Unity Baptist Church and had previously worked in the insurance and grocery industries.
Mr. McDonald was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy and Imogene Buckner McDonald and special grandparents, Luther and Noralee Buckner.
He is survived by his wife, Karla Eaton McDonald; daughters, Beth Rutledge (Shone) of Calhoun, Crystal McDonald (Edward McKeehan), Shondra McDonald and Taylor McDonald all of Athens; sister, Clara Vance of Cleveland; brothers, Allen McDonald and Doug McDonald, both of Benton, Ealum McDonald of Rossville, GA.; grandchildren, Alvin Kilpatrick, Aidan Kilpatrick, Quintin McKeehan and Jacob McKeehan.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2011 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home of Etowah. Burial will take place at Tellico Avenue Baptist Church Cemetery in Athens, Saturday, October 22, 2011 at 11 a.m. with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service.
The family will receive friends from 6 – 7:45 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2011 at the funeral home.
