Eileen Elvira Deel 86, passed away at Johnson City Medical Center on Sept. 08, 2011. She was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County and a member of the Clintwood Baptist Church where she played the organ and piano for many years.

She graduated from The Dickenson County Memorial High School in 1942. She graduated from the University of Chattanooga and was a teacher in the Dickenson County School System for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Oscar Deel and Alta Robinson Deel; two brothers, Howard Deel and William Oscar Deel Jr.; and two sisters, Imogene Dobbs and Madge Pickens. She is survived by sister, Eunice Deel of Johnson City, Tenn.; and 14 loving nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011, at 2:15 p.m. at Clintwood Baptist Church where the funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. with Clergymen Bryant Owens.

Burial will follow in the Phipps Memorial Cemetery, Clintwood, Va. Pallbearers will be the deacons of Clintwood Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Clintwood Baptist Church P.O Box 710, Clintwood, VA 24228.
