From Idaho State Journal (Pocatello, ID) - September 27, 2011:
LIBERTY - Jack Lee Rea, 64, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2011, at his home in Liberty, Idaho.
Jack married his wife, Joyce, on August 28, 1964, in Casper, Wyoming. Shortly after marrying, Jack and Joyce moved to Denver, Colo., where he completed his barbering training. Then, upon returning to Wyoming, Jack started working in the oil field.
Jack and Joyce moved to Montpelier in 1977 for Jack's work, and to raise their three children.
After the oil industry, Jack found that he had a love for construction and became very skilled in his trade, often doing projects at home or helping others with theirs. At his death, Jack was employed at Gunderson's True Value, and enjoyed helping others with their building projects.
Jack was a happy man who had little need for materialistic things and enjoyed a simple life. He enjoyed the beauty of the Bear Lake Valley and loved spending time in the mountains, around the lake, and on the golf course.
He had many interests that varied from riding snow machines, golf, and landscaping/gardening. He always had a signature twinkle in his eye and was a generous person who would have helped anyone, anytime.
Jack was preceded in death by his son, Gene Michael Rea, his father, Jean Rea, his mother, Genavive, his sister, Carol Nations, his father- and mother-in-law, Fred and Mary Ellen Kuck.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Rea; son, Cory Rea (Misty) Tenino, Washington; daughter, Kelly Rea; a granddaughter, Miakoda Lively from Montpelier; and a brother, Steve Rea of Casper, Wyoming.
Jack was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. He will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held at the Liberty LDS Ward Chapel on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at noon. There will be a viewing from 10 to 11:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Montpelier Cemetery.
