Obituary in Chattanooga paper, 1940: Austin, Fred, of Dayton, Tenn., passed away Feb. 8 in Los Angeles, Cal. Surviving are his wife; one brother, Vernis Austin; three aunts, Mrs. John West and Mrs Louise Owensby, both of Dayton, and Mrs. J.F. Bramlett, of Evensville. The body will arrive in Dayton Tuesday night, the time of the service to be announced later. Interment in the Smyrna cemetery. Arrangements by the R.J. Coulter company, Dayton.
