Freeport Journal Standard, Freeport, Illinois May 22, 1924

Raymond Earl Ploeger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Simon Ploeger of Pearl City, passed away at a local hospital at 5:30 o'clock this morning, May 22, 1924 his death being caused by stomach ulcers. (Alice Horner's note: This family used both the Ploeger and Plager spellings of their surname.) Raymond Ploeger was born near Pearl City on April 5, 1900, and passed away while in his 25th year. He leaves, besides his parents, four sisters: Mrs. Ida Koser, Mrs. Emma Thomas, Mrs. Nora Thomas, and Mrs. Ella Eichmeier, all of Pearl City. Two sisters and a brother preceded him in death. He was a member of the Sabin Evangelical church. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the Sabin Church, and interment will be made in the Sabin Cemetery.
