Services for LaVerne Sharpe Burks, 77, of 124 Harbison Club Circle will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Colonial Heights Baptist Church, with burial in Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Talbert-Shives Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the church building fund.
Mrs. Burks died Friday, April 14, 1995. Born in Blaney, she was a daughter of the late Weldon L. and Arnie Ross Sharpe. She was a member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church and a former employee with Sears.
Surviving are her husband, George J. Burks; a son, Jack Burks of Irmo; a sister, Virginia Spires of Fort Mill; a brother, Taylor Sharpe of Irmo; and two grandchildren.
