Arlene Barrier Allred, 75, of Echoview Circle, passed away Monday morning, March 30, 2009, at Lexington Memorial Hospital.


Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Coggins Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Lewis Johns and the Rev. David Shaffer officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park.

Arlene was born March 9, 1934, to Norman Ferdnand Barrier and Elsie Young Barrier. She was the former owner and operator of CBC Wholesale Printing and a retired employee of Green Printing. She was a member and past deacon of Coggins Memorial Baptist Church, and a member of The Pilot Club of Lexington.

Surviving are two sons, Mike Allred and his wife, Carolyn, and Rick Allred and his wife, Stephanie, all of Lexington; two daughters, Debbie Newsom and her husband, Larry, of Lexington, and Cathy Fleming and her husband, Dixon, of Salisbury; nine grandchildren, Nick Newsom and his wife, Liz, Jenny Newsom Brooks and her husband, Jason, Mindy Warfford, Adam Warfford, Logan Allred, Kendal Allred, Jordan Allred, Matthew Allred and Evan Allred.

The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and at other times at the home of Rick and Stephanie Allred, 269 Amber Lane, Lexington.

Memorials should be directed to Alzheimer's Association and Related Disorders, Western NC Chapter, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215.
