Carol Ann Cloward Reed Adams, age 44, of Roosevelt, passed away on September 12, 2011, after a courageous five year battle with colon cancer.
Carol was born August 8, 1967 in Roosevelt to Charles LeRoy "Bud" and Julia Dorothy Bristol Reed. She married Ryan Adams, later divorced, was a companion with Johnny Angel, and they later separated. She was also with Kyle Farnsworth, but they separated and stayed friends ever since.
She was a very hard worker spending 11 years as a CNA at the hospital and then, the years before she became ill, as a roustabout on oil rigs. She was known as "the Pistol" to the nurses while fighting cancer. Her free-spirited and strong yet spontaneous personality was always fun to be around. She took in many of her children's friends and treated them as her own. She lived life to the fullest and was always doing something outdoors, whether it was pulling weeds, going to the mountains or spur of the moment vacations with her kids. She was thankful for every day she had and, during her illness, was the one giving comfort and showing strength to her family. She was very much loved and will be deeply missed.
Carol is survived by her children, Chandra Ann Adams (Justin Minchey), Grand Junction; Haley Raven Angel (Jacob) Burnett, Roosevelt; Braiden Reighn Farnsworth, Roosevelt; grandchildren, Donovan Cooper, Kasadi Cooper, Justice Burnett, Macarius Minchey; mother, Julia Reed, Whiterocks Road; sisters, Tanny (Mike) Huber, Oil City, Pennsylvania; Charlie (Mike) Mitchell, Roosevelt; 4 nieces 2 nephews; former parents-in-law, Keith and Eloise Adams, and all the children whom she took under her wing.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles; and a good friend, Cody McMullin.
A memorial service held on Saturday, September 17, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at the Hullinger Mortuary.
The family would like to give a special thanks to her close friend Tanya Eldredge for all of the love and support she has given. Also appreciation is expressed to her hospice nurse, DeAnn Quick. In lieu of flowers, a donation to help with funeral expenses would be greatly appreciated.
