Mrs. Charles L. Stanhope, a former resident of Winter, passed away at the home of her daughter, Iva, in Joliet, IL, on Tuesday, April 20, at the age of 90 years.
Hattie Viola Gould was born at Bone Gap, IL, on July 31 1874.
She was married to Charles L. Stanhope on August 10, 1892.
Mr. and Mrs. Stanhope and family moved to the Winter community in September 1919, and purchased and build up a home and farm just west of Winter.
Survivors are four sons, Winfred of Columbia, IL, Home and Stuart of St. Louis, MO, and Dale of Stoughton; three daughters, Mrs. Beulah Decker of Chicago, Mrs. Harold Van Winkle (Grace) of Bozeman, MT, and Iva of Joliet, IL, with whom she made her home for the last nine years; also fourteen grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Her husband, Charles, preceded her in death March 30, 1960.
