A native of Easley, he was a son of Gladys B. Garrett of the home and the late Cole L. Garrett. Prior to his illness, Joey was a barber at Watson's Barber Shop, and was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy at
Dacusville.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are two brothers, Bobby and Gene Garrett of Dacusville; and a sister, Vickie Clark of Pickens.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 27, 2005, at the Church of God of Prophecy at Dacusville, with Revs. Scott Neill and Curry Whitakerofficiating. Burial will follow in Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery.
The body is at Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown, where the family will receive friends this evening from 6 to 8 p.m., and will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. Friday.
